"Superb accomodations in the heart of Frankfurt"
A delightful hotel right in the heart of downtown Frankfurt and within easy walking distance of all that Frankfurt has to offer - Old Opera House, Ballet, Römerberg, Goethe House and of course the famous shopping area. The hotel offers comfortable superior accomodations, although not near as grand or posh as many of Europe's deluxe 5 star hotels. The room quality and size is adequate and service is satisfactory with no negative aspects to point out. At the same time, neither are there any special stories to rave on about.
Overall a good value for the money considering the relatively moderate price of accomodations at this hotel. Highly recommended for a truly convenient and comfortable stay in Frankfurt but do not expect anything truly magnificent. As you will see from the pictures of our room posted here, there is not a whole lot to write home about. Nevertheless, we must say that we had an excellent stay here and will definitely return on our next visit to Frankfurt.

"One of the best in Frankfurt"
Stayed at this hotel once. It has a very convenient location,
close walking distance to the Zeil and Goethestrasse.
I had a junior suite, it was luxurious and probably one
of their refurbished accommodations as it looked way better
than the pictures displayed in the reviews below.
It was a one-room suite yet very large, with a sitting and
working area, all newly and luxuriously furnished, high
ceiling, luxurious new bathroom and a walk-in
wardrobe with safe etc.
All service was perfect and so was the meal i had in
the restaurant downstairs.
On other occassions, I stayed at the Intercontinental in Frankfurt.
The Steigenberger has a better location and is more luxurious
while the Intercontinental offers great views and the benefits
of the Club Lounge (in case of booking a club studio/suite).

"Always been great for us"
My wife and I have stayed at the Frankfurter Hof five times since 01.
We always book a DLX JUN. SUITE. Great beds with duvets, first class bathroom with flat screen tv over the tub, BEYOND clean.
There is a very nice SPA area on the top floor. Though it is not a bargain, for Europe and five star hotels, we find it to be a great value. The only downside that we found was a snooty bartender, other than that, EXCELLENT. We will be staying there again this Sept.

"Fabulous hotel"
My husband and I stayed here last summer in a deluxe room. The hotel is gorgeous. Everything about it is wonderful. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Our room and bathroom were large and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great. The room service food was good, and came in huge portions. The only downside would be that you have to pay at least 20 euros a day for parking. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

"Fine Hotel"
I am not sure what some other people are complaining about with certain previous reviews. This hotel is a fine hotel with a perfectly central location. Some rooms can be somewhat small but where in Europe isn't that the case? The public areas were clean and elegant as far as I could see and the staff was very helpful to me. My room was very clean. The health club upstairs was pretty nice as well, although I could have used a few more free weights. I do get annoyed when a hotel charges for Internet access when much cheaper hotels all over Europe are now offering free unlimited Internet access. However, all in all, I was very happy with my stay here.

"We Loved It for a Special Treat"
I've traveled around Europe several times, but my husband had never been until recently. This was the hotel I chose for our first night in Europe, and I wasn't diappointed.
As I recall, the furnishings were in fact outdated, but there's just so much charm and history in that old building, and that's where we kept our focus. It's got a stunning, Victorian-style exterior that's awe-inspiring. No wonder so many famous people have stayed here. The location was fabulous too - plenty of good restaurants and things to do within walking distance. I wouldn't have changed much!

"Steigenberger Hof Excellent Hotel"
Stayed here in Feb 2004 and March 2002. New carpeting in 2004. Got weekend rate (~165 Euro) for Deluxe double with breakfast using Steigenberger on-line website even though we stayed on weekdays (Thursday counts sometimes if hotel isn't full).
Located one block from tram stop to train station and a subway entrance is out front. Two blocks to Zeil, main pedestrian shopping area. Large rooms with big bath and minibar. Extremely elaborate breakfast buffet.
As other reviewers have said this is probably the top place in town.
